E
Lectrical, Mechanical and Instrumentation background I am innovative & tenacious as a business developer with a remarkable record in orchestrating diverse “niche” or value added product / service market penetrations in Ireland and Internationally. I am a veteran business developer, marketer & innovator with a wealth of knowledge (20+ years) in a wide range of industry sectors from EPC/ Turnkey to Specialist Service Provider. I take pleasure in the challenge of developing new markets while achieving business goals. I started my career as an electrician. After some time working in the trade, I went into the Marketing & Advertising Business by forming my own company (I-Catch Signs). This business proved so successful that it was taken over by a larger company in 1986. My first overseas assignment was in Iraq, but after 3-months I and 14 other Irishmen were taken hostage by the regime and used as human shields against UN forces positioned in Kuwait. Although this experience was very frightening it helped me to gain sound leadership and communication skills for my future career. I was later assigned to head up projects in Spain, Saudi, Kuwait and Qatar. I reached the position as Company Director in the Caspian region. Over the years my role in Operations and Business Development has taken me all over the world allowing me to form solid working relationships with respected international clients. I have been working in Ireland for the past 3 years and believe this time has allowed me to understand the market conditions. I firmly believe my international and national experience will provide benefits for any company wanting energy with-in their business. I am a “people person” and enjoy working with and mentoring others equally as well as going it alone. I have an extensive database (5000+) of contacts within the industry in Ireland as well as internationally. I believe strongly in personal integrity as foundational and the need for trust / cooperation between management and employees as integral for the long-term success of any organization. I am very proficient at locating, developing, presenting & closing clients whether they are in the board room or on site. I also have experience in finding & developing relationships with-in Ireland and International agents/representatives as well as forging manufacturing joint ventures both nationally and internationally.
